My Education

At 22 years old, I am currently a fine art student working towards my bachelor's degree. Encapsulated by art throughout my education, my desire to learn has directed me towards a postgraduate degree with a focus on curation. Explorations into technological advancements and how it can be utilised to improve accessibility within cultural institutions, has inspired me to manipulate my own artistic practice.

As an artist, my interest in history, both within and beyond Suffolk, has allowed me to collaborate with local museums and engage in student-run events such as art fairs. Furthermore, my background as a junior graphic designer has allowed me to enhance my work through digital manipulation of sculpture, painting and sewing.

About Me

As an artist with a background in Fine Arts, i have always been inspired by colour, shape, texture and pattern. As i have developed as an artist i have explored materiality and sustainability. The diverse choice of material within creation has allowed me to intertwine my interests with history into my creative process.

Born and raised in suffolk i have been surrounded by a range of historical sites, witchcraft and royal history have continued to inspire my themes and outcomes. As an artist i have navigated my practice around research and development, having a greater understanding of themes allows me to immerse myself into creating whilst fulfilling my desire to learn and grow. Throughout education i have explored a range of mediums, initially focusing on painting using acrylics, oils and watercolours i found that i longed for textural elements within my work. Moving away from 2D work i am now a mixed media artist inspired by traditional themes but the presence of contemporary art. The ability to manipulate my art through light and colour helps me change perspective of a design. Still partially working 2D, it allows me to create larger scale digital works incorporating 3D elements with incricate drawings.

My Future

I am excited to harness the latest technological advancements to propel my career in curation. My is to use these tools to improve the accessibility of museums and galleries, ensuring they remain essential educational resources in our increasingly digital world. The often-overlooked integration of accessible tools in arts spaces will help the arts and museum sector remain welcoming in a changing environment.

Currently, I am applying for postgraduate courses in curation art history to refine my skills for a practical role within a gallery setting. I recognize that I can adapt my skill set for curatorial roles, such as archival work, exhibition design, or with visitors. My passion for art and social interactions will enable me to continually in a curatorial environment, and further education prepare me for future challenges.
